FAQs
If I’m new to the studio, how do I sign up?
If you are new to the studio, you can review the instructor page to see who you are interested in working with. Email the studio owner Laura (laura@targetpilates.com) to assist you with the process.
What is the difference between Private Training Sessions and Group Classes?
Private Training allows you to schedule sessions as appointments and these can be by yourself, or with a friend or two as semi-private duets and trios. This allows you to train by yourself or exclusively with the people you want to train with, at the times that work for you. The Group Reformer Classes are a great way to get a little price break and you don’t need to worry about having a partner, although you do have to be available at the specific times that the classes are offered.
If the group classes are so small, how do I make sure I can get into a class?
One of the best things about our studio is that we have such small group classes – there is a maximum of 3 people in every Group Reformer Class. While this is a great benefit for our clients, it does result in class spots filling in quickly. If you have a particular time you want to train and there is a spot available, you can guarantee that spot by purchasing a series os classes and it will continually be yours. We do have some clients that schedule as they go, as their schedule may change from week to week. These clients do have a bit more trouble getting into their first choice classes, but usually find their way off of a waiting list for their desired training time. You can wait list yourself for any class through the instructor and will receive notification as soon as a spot opens up.
How can I book or cancel a session?
All clients book and cancel sessions directly though the instructor they are working with.
We are a very small studio and training times are in high demand. As a result we have a very strict 24 hour cancelation policy. Without 24 hours notice you will be charged for missing your session – no exceptions. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
How many times a week should I do Pilates?
The reality is your success will depend on a variety of factors. Your current fitness routine, lifestyle outside of class, and the amount of focus you put into your Pilates class will directly impact your results. The more you put into it, the more you will get out of it. The majority of our clients train two or three times a week, although some train up to five days and some as few as one. Feel free to talk with us about your goals and we can help you determine the right number for you.
What do I wear?
Any clean, comfortable clothing that you can move well in is perfect. In Pilates you will lie down, sit, stand, and we will get you into some interesting positions. Be prepared to move, sweat, and work. However you are most comfortable doing that is important. There are no shoes allowed in the training space, but you can wear socks, grip socks, or Pilates footwear (like The Shu or wraps) are totally fine. Hair should be tied back and please remove and jewelry – especially any pieces that dangle. Also, please avoid wearing any strong scents – we are in a small space and some people are very sensitive or allergic to them.
Where do I park?
We are located in the Westlake Village Industrial Park and there is ample parking right around the studio. If there is a brown reserved sign, please don’t park in that spot, but anywhere else is good. Target Pilates does have one reserved spot right in front, although it may be taken by people training before you.
Do you have a referral program?
We love our clients and our favorite way to meet new people is through our current students we love so much. If you refer someone to us, make sure they mention you! If your friend signs up for a series of classes you earn a free class.
